JEM New York was founded to provide high-quality video content without the need for massive budgets and complicated productions.

JEM New York founder, Rich Mello, has worked just about everywhere: from live TV, newsrooms and production houses to location shoots around the world. His productions have aired coast-to-coast on TV networks, as well as online.

Rich hires crews as needed for each project keeping budgets down and production schedules agile. His wide-ranging skills mean that he oversees each stage of video production: writing, directing, producing, shooting, and editing. This guarantees the highest level of quality control and has earned him many loyal clients and accolades.

Nominated four times, Rich earned an Emmy Award by the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, for his work on NYC Media’s historic documentary series, Blueprint NYC.  He has also written articles for the British edition of Condé Nast Traveller magazine, relating to his experiences as a TV and documentary director/producer.

JEM New York is named for Rich’s father: James Emanuel Mello who was an enthusiastic amateur film maker, capturing hours of family antics on super-8 film in the 60’s and 70’s.
